This free printable betta fish coloring page shows a smiling betta with long, flowing, ruffled fins swimming between tall aquarium plants, bubbles and smooth pebbles. The scales and fin lines give older kids plenty of detail to fill. Like all our printables, it is completely free for home and classroom use.
Fun fact to share while coloring: betta fish can breathe air from the surface using a special labyrinth organ, but they still need a heated, filtered tank of at least 5 gallons to stay healthy.
Printing Tips
- The file is a print-ready 2550×3300 px (8.5×11 in at 300 DPI) page. Choose US Letter, or A4 with “Fit to page” turned on.
- Print in black and white or grayscale to save ink. The bold outlines stay crisp on any home printer.
- Use thicker paper (cardstock, 65 lb or 160 gsm) for markers or paint so colors don’t bleed through.
- Want a smaller sheet for little hands? Print at 50% to fit two pages on one sheet.

Coloring Ideas
Bettas come in amazing colors: deep blue, ruby red, purple, turquoise or rainbow. Try blending two colors on the fins for a glowing effect. Crayons work best for younger kids, while colored pencils and fine-tip markers are great for the small details.
